Born in Barcelona, Viviana Narotzky studied industrial design and worked with designer Jorge Pensi in the early Nineties. Resident in London between 1994 and 2008, she obtained a doctorate in History of Design by the Royal College of Art.
Among other academic positions, Viviana has been Director of the History of Design MA at Kingston University, Senior Research Fellow at the AHRC Center for the Study the Domestic Interior (CSDI) based at the Royal College of Art, and Tutor on the History of Design MA course run jointly by the Royal College of Art and the Victoria & Albert Museum of London.
Viviana is a Trustee of the Design History Foundation and President of ADI-FAD, the Industrial Design Association of Barcelona. She has written and lectured extensively on design and contemporary material culture, and curated shows on contemporary and 20C design. Her recent book La Barcelona del Diseño, published in 2008, is an engaging and rigorous exploration of design and architecture in the Catalan city from the 1960s to the present day.

Nacida en Barcelona, Viviana Narotzky se graduó en diseño industrial y trabajó con el diseñador Jorge Pensi a principios de los años noventa. Narotzky se establece en Londres en 1994, doctorándose en Historia del Diseño por el Royal College of Art. Entre otros cargos académicos, Narotzky ha sido Directora del Master de Historia del Diseño de la Universidad de Kingston. Desde 2003 a 2008 fue Senior Research Fellow del Centro para el Estudio del Interior Doméstico en el Royal College of Art y Senior Tutor del Master de Historia del Diseño, gestionado conjuntamente por el Royal College of Art y el Museo Victoria & Albert de Londres. En la actualidad es Honorary Research Fellow del Departamento de Historia del Diseño del Royal College of Art.
Viviana Narotzky es miembro del Patronato de la Fundació Història del Disseny de Barcelona y Presidente de ADI-FAD. Es autora de numerosas publicaciones sobre diseño y cultura material contemporánea, ha comisariado exposiciones sobre diseño y ha hablado sobre el tema en foros nacionales e internacionales. Su libro La Barcelona del Diseño, publicado en 2008, es un recorrido ameno y riguroso por el diseño y la arquitectura en la ciudad condal, desde 1960 hasta nuestros dias.
